Job Description

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Work Address: MOA, Pasay
Work Set-up: Fully onsite for the first 2-3 months for training, then transitioning to a hybrid of 3 days onsite per week afterward
Work Schedule: Day Shift

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform month-end close finance operations, including checking financial transactions and payments in the ledger, as well as conducting account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports.
• Manage general ledger (GL) accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation in month-end close activities.
• Identify control gaps in financial processes and implement key internal controls where necessary.
• Ensure all accounting processes and controls are well-documented and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee compliance and tax reporting, including VAT, corporate tax returns, and regulatory filings.
• Liaise with the Technology team to log and resolve accounting system issues (e.g., •Oracle Cloud, FIS - AWS & Adaptiv, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero).
• Provide accounting guidance on relevant topics and update accounting papers/guidance as necessary.
• Support cash performance and forecasting, credit assessments, and financial modeling.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects in support of the department or company’s initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Financial Management, Economics, Accounting or other related business courses
•Familiarity with Credit and Loan Products
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a company performing investment banking functions
•Should have an understanding of general accounting principles including financial statements, Excellent English, verbal and written communication skills
•Keen attention to details
•Computer and internet proficient
•Can work with minimal supervision and can deliver high quality output
•Must be highly organized and with excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize activities effectively
•Must be proactive, motivated, detail-oriented, a team player and knows how to work with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and metrics
