Job Description

We are looking for a sales professional in the wood and metal fabrication industry focus on promoting, selling, and managing customer relationships for custom or standardized fabrication products and services. These sales roles often require both technical knowledge and interpersonal skills.

1. Sales and Market Development

Identify and target potential clients in construction, HVAC, manufacturing, architecture, and related sectors.
Promote products and services such as custom woodwork, structural metal fabrication, and sheet metal ducting solutions (e.g., HVAC duct systems).
Develop and implement sales strategies to meet company goals and increase market share.
2. Client Consultation and Technical Assessment

Meet with clients, contractors, or engineers to understand project scope, including material specifications, dimensions, airflow requirements (for ducting), finishes, and design preferences.
Recommend appropriate fabrication or ducting solutions based on client needs, building codes, and industry standards.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to ensure proper understanding of project requirements.
3. Estimating and Quotation

Prepare detailed and competitive quotations for:
Custom wood or metal products (furniture, fixtures, frameworks, etc.)
Sheet metal ductwork (supply, return, exhaust, etc.)
Calculate materials, labor, transportation, and installation costs.
Present and negotiate proposals with clients, including pricing, timelines, and payment terms.
4. Order Fulfillment Coordination

Liaise with design, production, and installation teams to ensure accurate and timely fabrication and delivery.
Monitor job progress, update customers on lead times or any issues, and ensure delivery or installation meets expectations.
Assist with project scheduling and coordinate with site supervisors or subcontractors for ducting installations.
5. Technical Knowledge and Product Training

Maintain strong technical understanding of:
Wood types, joinery, finishes, and CNC cutting.
Metal fabrication processes (cutting, welding, bending, coating).
Sheet metal ducting standards (e.g., SMACNA), gauge selection, airflow considerations, insulation, and fittings.
Attend training sessions or factory tours to stay updated on product capabilities and innovations.
6. Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, including general contractors, architects, mechanical engineers, and procurement managers.
Provide excellent after-sales service and resolve any customer complaints or technical issues.
Follow up on completed projects to identify new opportunities or repeat business.
7. Market Intelligence and Reporting

Monitor industry trends, competitor pricing, and market demand for ducting and fabrication products.
Track project bids, upcoming construction developments, or government tenders.
Maintain records using CRM software and report on sales activities, customer feedback, and forecasts.
Key Skills Required

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic to intermediate understanding of HVAC systems and duct design.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
Familiarity with fabrication processes and shop capabilities.
Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with CRM, ERP, and project management tools.
