Data Analytics Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Data Analytics Specialist proficient in SQL to support our data-driven decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for independently analyzing, testing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights. This role requires an individual who can take full ownership of tasks, from data extraction to analysis, and work independently to meet deadlines and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
• Data Extraction and Analysis:
o Independently design and execute complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate large datasets from various databases.
o Perform data validation and data cleaning to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data used for analysis.
• Report Generation:
o Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL, providing regular insights and summaries of key metrics.
o Create ad-hoc reports based on business requirements and stakeholder needs.
• Testing & Troubleshooting:
o Conduct thorough testing of data queries and analytical models to ensure the accuracy of the results.
o Troubleshoot issues related to data discrepancies, SQL queries, or performance bottlenecks, working autonomously to resolve them.
• Data Modeling & Optimization:
o Work with complex data models and optimize SQL queries to improve performance and scalability.
o Ensure the efficient integration of new datasets into existing reporting and analysis frameworks.
• Data Visualization:
o Present findings through visually compelling data visualizations, using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or others (if applicable), with a focus on clarity and ease of understanding.
• Documentation & Reporting:
o Document SQL scripts, query logic, and methodologies used in the analysis for future reference.
o Provide written reports and communicate insights to stakeholders clearly and concisely.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• SQL Expertise:
o Advanced knowledge of SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
o Experience with complex queries, joins, and database optimization techniques.
• Analytical Thinking:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
o Ability to independently identify trends, correlations, and insights from large datasets.
• Data Testing Skills:
o Experience in conducting thorough testing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
o Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies autonomously.
• Self-Starter:
o Capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
o Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Communication Skills:
o Ability to document and explain complex technical findings in a clear and understandable manner.
o Ability to present findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Data Visualization Tools:
o Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar (not mandatory but preferred).
• Experience with Other Databases:
o Familiarity with NoSQL databases or other database technologies is a plus.
• Education:
o A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred but not required based on experience.

o The Data Analytics Specialist will work independently with minimal team collaboration and will be responsible for all aspects of the data analytics process.
