Job Description

A Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods and materials. This role involves managing a team, overseeing inventory management, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and maintaining smooth warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff to ensure high performance
Assign tasks and ensure workloads are balanced across the team
Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback for development
Ensure effective communication between warehouse staff and other departments

Inventory Control:
Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO or LIFO)
Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies
Maintain accurate records of goods received, stored, and dispatched

Warehouse Operations:
Oversee the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and storage of materials
Ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly documented and processed
Coordinate with purchasing and sales teams to ensure stock availability and order fulfillment

Safety and Compliance:
Ensure warehouse operations comply with all safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA)
Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions if necessary
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment
Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Logistics and Shipment Coordination:
Plan and manage the logistics for inbound and outbound shipments, including transportation schedules
Work with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and vendors
Ensure the proper documentation is completed for all shipments, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs documentation when applicable

Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement:
Resolve operational issues, inventory discrepancies, or delays in shipment
Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for more efficient warehouse operations
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of warehouse technologies and systems

Administrative Tasks:
Manage warehouse records, reports, and other documentation related to inventory and shipping
Assist in budget preparation and cost control for warehouse operations
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on warehouse activities and performance
