Job Description

Job Description – Senior Tax Associate

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tax Compliance & Reporting

Prepare and review corporate, individual, VAT, and withholding tax returns to ensure accuracy and timely submission.

Ensure compliance with BIR regulations, local tax laws, and other government requirements.

Assist in preparing tax reports and supporting documents for monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.

2. Tax Advisory & Planning

Provide tax advisory services to clients on tax-saving opportunities and risk management.

Analyze the tax implications of business transactions, expansions, and investments.

Assist in developing tax-efficient strategies to minimize liabilities while ensuring compliance.

3. Tax Audits & BIR Representation

Assist in handling BIR audits, tax assessments, and tax dispute resolutions.

Prepare supporting documents and responses for tax inquiries and reconciliation discussions with the BIR.

Work closely with clients and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance during tax investigations.

4. Process Improvement & Compliance Management

Identify areas for tax process improvements and recommend best practices.

Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all tax-related matters.

Stay updated with tax laws, policies, and regulatory changes affecting businesses.

5. Leadership & Team Support

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior tax associates.

Assist the Tax Manager or Tax Director in managing client engagements and tax projects.

Collaborate with finance, accounting, and legal teams to ensure smooth tax operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.

Work Experience:

At least 3-5 years of experience in tax compliance, tax planning, or audit.

Experience in BIR representation, tax assessments, and tax dispute resolution.

Technical & Soft Skills:

Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations, and corporate taxation.

Proficiency in tax software and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Xero).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple clients/projects.
