Copy Editor (Financial Industry)

Job Description
Edit documents for consistency and errors, focusing on quality assurance
Edit financial statements to include, but not restricted to, typographical errors, punctuation errors, spelling and formatting inconsistencies, correcting opinions, agreement (cross-referencing) of numbers and captions from one statement to another, agreement of statements with notes, language that is clear, logical and is not contradictory from one part to another
Ensure cross-referencing and footing in financial statements
Check computations for accuracy of percentages and other data, whenever possible
Interact with all levels of staff and management
Remain flexible with the timings and shift hours

Qualifications:

Graduate in any discipline
Proficient with MS Office
With minimum 3 years of relevant editing, proofreading and copyediting experience is required for the position.
Editorial background from a Financial industry is preferred for the role.
Must have experience using CMOS (Chicago Manual of Style) in copyreading.
Good English language and comprehension skills
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to function under pressure in a dynamic environment
Keen sense of time and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
Intermediate level of proficiency in MS – Word and Excel
Willing to work on night shift schedule, weekends, and holidays
