Job Description
Provision of high quality and eficient dietary foodservice to all patients in compliance to the
standards and policies set by the Hospital
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receives, checks and updates diet list and prepares cook's census for breakfast, lunch or
dinner.
• Updates and assorts diet cards for breakfast, lunch or dinner according to patient's diet and
room accommodation
• Bills all charges for patient that requires nourishment and tubefeeding
• Supervises dishing-out of full and therapeutic diet for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
• Checks assembled breakfast, lunch or dinner trays before distribution to ensure proper
• quantity, quality and accuracy of food served against patient diet
• Counts and records all breakfast, lunch or dinner trays served and record it in the checklist
form in the absence of dietary aide
• Updates and compute tubefeeding diet
• Checks tubefeeding diet prepared by Dietary Aide
• Prepares tubefeeding diet in the absence of dietary aide
• Prepares meal requisition slip for breakfast, lunch or dinner for OR/DR, ER consultants
• Plan diabetic snacks for patients on diabetic diet.
• Prepares requisition slip for morning and afternoon snacks of diabetic patients and checks it
• before distribution.
• Diet counseling
Educating and advising a wvide range of patients with dliet-related
disorders on the practical ways in which they can improve their health by
adopting healthier eating habits
Calculating patient's nutritional requirements using standard equations
based on assessment.
Advising about special diets
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team in hospitals to gain patients
cooperation in following recommended dietary treatment.
Educating other healthcare professionals about food and nutrition issues
Running clinics in hospital outpatients department
Preparing information packs, flyers and other promotional materials
Verifies with the Nurse on duty discharged patient and room transfer
Observes patient's acceptance of food served for breakfast, lunch or dinner and makes
notation in the logbook for evaluation of menu.
Records all requisition slips for OR/DR Meals, Employee's Meal and patient's request in the logbook.
Performs other related tasks assigned by the immediate superior and makes the necessary endorsement after the end of each shift
And to perform such other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by your immediate superior, unit manager or department head
JOB SPECIFICATION
Educational Attainment
• Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
Eligibilifty
• Registered-Nutritionist Dietitian
Skills and Traits
• Proficient in MS word, Excel and other MS Ofice Software
• Knowledge in Dietary and Food Services Management
• Demonstrates excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, honest, flexible, mature, confident, resourceful and caring manner
• Experience
With at least 1 year experience in the same field (optional)
