Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
• Must be a Certified Public Accountant
• LLB /JD or Lawyer is an advantage
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in any of the big 4 accounting firms, or other
firms offering tax services
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in tax practice.
• Must have at least two (2) years of experience in a managerial level.
• Must have relevant experience in handling tax compliance review, tax assessments and/or tax
advisory services.
• Strong understanding of relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and excellent organizational and
communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. STATUTORY FILING OF TAX RETURNS AND PAYMENT OF TAXES
Responsible for timely and accurately filed tax returns and payments
1.1 Reviews tax returns and computation prior to filing
1.2 Coordinates with other departments for funding
1.3 Monitors compliance with monthly, quarterly and annual filing and submissions
2. PAYMENT OF LOCAL BUSINESS TAXES AND REAL PROPERTY TAXES
Ensures that local business taxes and real property taxes paid are reasonable and in
accordance with existing tax laws
2.1 Ensure compliance with existing policies or manual to standardize payment of
local taxes
2.2 Coordinate with Accounting Department and Permits & Licensing
2.3 Reviews documents and computations prior to transmittal
2.4 Seeks approval from the management for payment of local taxes
3. TAX COMPLIANCE REVIEW
Ensures company/ies' compliance with existing tax laws, rules and regulations
3.1 Prepares Overall Tax Risk Assessment and Review Procedures for the Group.
3.2 Meets with target SBU for engagement kick off
3.3 Conducts audit procedure and prepares report and recommendations (based on the
assigned scope of work and complexity of issue)
3.4 Presents findings and recommendation to target SBU's management
3.5 Monitors implementation of recommendations/reforms
4. TAX ASSESSMENT
Responsible for disputed/resolved tax assessments
4.1 Coordinates with tax authorities
4.2 Reviews documents prior to submission to the tax authorities
4.3 Reviews findings, and determines initial defenses and reconciling items
4.4 Prepares and finalizes position papers
4.5 Seeks approval from the management for payment of deficiency taxes
5. INTERNAL TAX ADVISORY AND SUPPORT SERVICES
Provide tax advisory services and support to business units
5.1 Performs initial assessment of inquiry or requests
5.2 Delegates task or prepares written deliverables, depending on complexity of issues
5.3 Reviews, finalizes and releases response/written deliverables
6. PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS
Initiate project/s to simplify or optimize a process, reduce errors and/or improve tax
compliance
6.1 Review the current practices and process of BUs with issues noted during tax
compliance review or consultation; or any process which can be simplified or
improved
6.2 Suggest feasible and cost-efficient alternatives / redesign the process or automate,
to simplify or optimize a process, reduce errors and/or improve tax compliance
6.3 Prepare report and discuss proposal with Manager. Secure necessary approvals.
6.4 Initiate the project and change management. Implement process improvement
and test the change.
6.5 Cascade the process improvement to BUs concerned. Monitor compliance and
challenges encountered.
6.6 Finalize documentation on process improvement.

- ₱120,000.00 Monthly
