JOB SUMMARY
A Massage Therapist is responsible for providing relaxation or treating body pain and discomfort through physical touch and moving a client’s muscles. Their duties include meeting with clients to determine the type of massage they need, kneading or rubbing muscles to release tension.
Massage Therapist Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs professional quality massages to clients whether walk-in or by appointment.
• Guide clients through service offerings and determine which massages would benefit them most.
• Take a detailed client history and note any health conditions.
• Evaluate clients to determine painful or stressed areas of the body.
• Advise clients on stretching, strengthening or relaxation methods.
• Suggest future massage appointments and special offers to clients.
• Listen to clients during appointments and adjust technique as they desire.
• Creates excellent member/guest experience through friendly and helpful attitude.
• Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the Spa.
• Able to go outside the spa incase there will be home service massage.
• Report to the owner or manager of the business.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
• Able to manage time efficiently.
• Self-motivated and self-directed.
• Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Flexible on working hours.
• Must pass a background check.
• Able to read and write.
