Job Description
Leads and provides oversights on the development and operationalization of robust data strategies, data architecture, data management and governance policies and processes to build the company's data analytics, insights and automated
decision making capabilities. This role is to foster value creation for the organization through greater exploitation of internal data assets and external data ecosystem.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Strategy and Planning
- Engage senior company commercial, operations and corporate stakeholders to translate business strategies into robust data and analytics strategies that support and enable commercial and operational objectives
- Drive the planning, budgeting and resourcing for key data initiatives across the company
- Build relationships with key data and technology partners to further company data and analytics ambitions
Data Commercialization
- Work with company senior leadership to establish the vision of managing data as a business asset
- Lead senior leadership collaboration to develop strategies to exploit data using research and analytics to maximise returns on data assets
- Lead research, strategy creation and development of new data products or services to expand markets, monetize data and grow revenue
Data Architecture
- Drive assessment of company's technology and data landscape to understand the requirements for company's enterprise data architecture to enable and dovetail the enterprise technology architecture
- Collaborate with key senior stakeholders to establish the business requirements for company's overall data architecture and communicate these requirements to the technical teams responsible for developing the data architecture
- Translate data and analytics strategy and vision into data architecture; defining and implementing models, rules, and standards for design and governance
- Identify new types and sources of data to enable business innovation throughout the organization
Data Management and Governance
- Create and oversee a centralized service for sourcing external data to ensure quality, traceability, timeliness, usability and cost-effectiveness
- Define processes oversee execution of effective integration and staging of data from various sources and systems to ensure standardization in data management and quality
- Oversee the development and maintenance of robust technological infrastructure including data lakes, data warehouses and data marts for consistent usage of data across the company
- Develop and maintain controls on data quality, interoperability and sources to effectively manage the corporate risk associated with the use of data and analytics
- Define, manage and advance enterprise information management principles, policies and programs for stewardship, advocacy and custodianship of data and analytics, in concert with legal, information security, and corporate risk and compliance offices
Data Analytics
- Drive the expansion of company's research and analytics offerings, especially in emerging analytical approaches, skills and technologies, focusing them on digital business innovation
- Establish the governance principles and mechanisms for data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications and automated decision making
- Develop methods to ensure consistent application and use of analytics
- Drive research and innovation for advancement of company's advanced analytics capabilities through leadership of a center of excellence on data analytics
Sustainability Solutions
- Conceptualize the creation of sustainability-forward solutions aimed at leveraging advanced analytics capabilities to create value for clients while reducing carbon footprint
- Organization Capability Building
- Foster the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies and data literacy across the enterprise
EXPERIENCE
General Experience
- Ten or more years of business experience, ideally in business management, legal, financial or information or IT management
- Experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes and information strategies, and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards.
- Managerial Experience
- Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross- functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
