Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Assistant supports the Finance & Accounting Officer in managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies across three businesses: Webforest, a web development firm; Sellout Trading, a luxury perfume brand; and Koufuku, a Japanese restaurant. This role involves handling invoices, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Financial Transactions & Data Entry
Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
Process invoices, receipts, and expense reimbursements accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist in bank deposits, withdrawals, and reconciliations.
Maintain and update financial records for Sellout Trading and Koufuku.

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable Support
Assist in processing payments and verifying invoices.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable records under the supervision of the Finance & Accounting Officer.

3. Financial Reporting & Documentation
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries.
Ensure proper filing and organization of financial documents.
Support the month-end and year-end closing process by compiling necessary data.

4. Taxation & Compliance Support
Help prepare tax returns, VAT filings, and other statutory reports.
Ensure compliance with company financial policies and government regulations.
Coordinate with external auditors or tax authorities as required.

5. Administrative & Other Duties
Assist in budget monitoring and expense tracking.
Handle petty cash funds and office-related financial transactions.
Perform other duties assigned by the Finance & Accounting Officer or Management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Licenses/Certifications/Trainings:
Accounting & Finance related trainings and seminars

Prerequisites for the Job:
Minimum of 6 months - 1 year of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a fast-paced office environment.
Familiarity with accounting principles and financial management practices is essential.

Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data and transactions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with a solid understanding of accounting software.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
