JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Solar Panel Installer

Job Overview:
Solar Panel Installer is responsible for installing solar panels and related equipment to enable the conversion of solar energy into electricity. A Solar Panel Installer is expected to be knowledgeable about solar energy technology and should have technical skills in the installation of solar panels, wiring, and other equipment, and should also have experience in following safety procedures. The Solar Panel Installer should demonstrate attention to detail and should be able to operate hand and power tools to carry out the installation process. They may also need to provide ongoing support such as maintenance and repair services to ensure that the solar systems continue to function effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Installing new solar panels and connecting them to the existing electrical grid where needed
• Performing routine maintenance on solar panels to ensure their continued operation
• Providing customers with information about the benefits of solar energy as an alternative energy source
• Installing new solar panel systems on residential, commercial, or industrial buildings
• Installing new solar panels on roofs or in parking lots using cranes and other heavy machinery
• Installing new solar panel components or replacing damaged parts to existing solar panel systems
• Installing wiring for solar panel systems that are not connected to the electrical grid
• Installing inverters that convert the DC power generated by solar panels into AC power that can be used in homes or businesses
• Installing batteries that store electricity from solar panels for use when it is dark or cloudy
• Follows building standards and codes when installing panels and support structure
• Test operating voltages; calibrates to ensure systems are within acceptable power limits.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Must have experience in the solar industry
• A good understanding of electrical systems and the ability to read technical drawings
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• NCII holder is an advantage
