The main responsibilities of a CUSTOMER SALES REPRESENTATIVE include:

As such, the people we employ need the spark and determination that it takes to master the art of sales because let’s face it, it can be a tough gig, but it is essential to business success! What does a typical day look like for a Supply Sales Representative?
First things first
We typically kick the day off with team huddles. This is a chance for our team leaders to brief their agents on the day ahead and recap on the successes of the day before.
Calls, calls, calls
Next, you’ll start calling, and won’t stop until the day is done (except during your scheduled breaks or the impromptu quick “comfort” break, of course). As a Supply Sales Representative, you’ll speak to a lot of people! In fact, on average you’ll talk to 150-200 customers a day, many of whom will not be interested in speaking to you… but it’s your job to change that!
You’ll be on a dialer, so the next client is pulled up and the phone starts dialing automatically. Types of clients vary and they may be located across the US and Canada, but they are all clients with a Pitney Bowes Postage Meter who haven’t purchased supplies from us recently.
Making your numbers
This is a quota-driven role focused on sales revenue generated. To succeed, you’ll need to be dependable and reliable as well as excellent at handling objections. By treating every call as an opportunity, and listening carefully to what the customer is saying, and recommending only what they need, you’ll be able to close sales without misleading the person on the other end of the phone and hit your targets.
Our customers already rely on their Pitney Bowes meters - your job is to strengthen that relationship through honest conversations about their supply needs.
End of the day
You may end with another huddle from your manager who’ll update you on how the day went. This may include an update on targets, recognition for top performers, continuing education, and strategies for the next day, ensuring everyone is at the top of their game.
To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:
• At least 2 years of B2B sales experience.
• Minimum of 1 year handling outbound calls in a high-volume setting (100+ calls daily).
• Strong background in sales or customer service with a proven ability to exceed goals.
• Core sales skills, including resilience, objection handling, and closing deals.
• Intermediate PC skills with the ability to multitask across multiple screens.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time.
• Willingness to work 100 percent onsite.
Preferred Qualifications
• A history of taking on increasing responsibilities in previous roles.
• Proven success in B2B sales, inside sales, or telemarketing.
• Experience selling over the phone in a telesales or call center environment.
