Job Description

Reports to: Director of Digital Engagement and Platforms
Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Public Relations and External Communications to lead and execute PR strategies and manage award submission initiatives for the U.S. market. This strategic role requires a seasoned PR professional who excels in media relations, industry recognition, and delivering impactful external communications. You will work closely with the Head of Global PR and the Head of Marketing for the U.S. and Canada, playing a key role in enhancing our brand reputation and visibility among target audiences and industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Public Relations Strategy:
Develop and execute a comprehensive PR strategy to elevate brand awareness and thought leadership in the U.S. market.
Cultivate strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, influencers, and industry experts to secure positive coverage for the company.
Identify, pitch, and craft compelling PR stories that align with business objectives, market trends, and industry narratives.
Award Submissions:
Manage the end-to-end award submission process, including researching opportunities, coordinating internal inputs, and crafting persuasive and impactful entries.
Maintain a calendar of relevant industry awards, deadlines, and submission cycles.
Collaborate with global and regional teams to align award submissions with broader marketing and PR strategies.
External Communications:
Collaborate with the global PR leader to ensure consistency in messaging across regions and alignment with corporate narratives.
Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, bylined articles, case studies, and other external communications.
Monitor media inquiries, respond promptly, and ensure that all communication is accurate and on-brand.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with the Head of Marketing for the U.S. and Canada and the Head of Global PR to align PR initiatives with regional business priorities.
Partner with internal subject matter experts to source insights and generate content for PR campaigns and award submissions.
Manage relationships with external PR agencies, vendors, and partners to support PR efforts as required.
Measurement and Reporting:
Track and analyze PR performance metrics, including media coverage quality, tone, target audience engagement, business impact, and awards received.
Provide regular reports and updates to internal stakeholders, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Crisis Communications:
Support global PR, marketing, and executive leadership in managing crisis communication efforts when required, ensuring alignment with corporate protocols and ensuring a swift, unified response.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience:
7+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field, with a strong focus on the U.S. market.
Proven success in securing media coverage and managing industry award submissions.
Experience working in professional services, technology, or B2B industries is highly preferred.
Preference for candidates who are comfortable working U.S. market hours.
Skills:
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling and engaging stories for a wide range of audiences.
In-depth knowledge of the U.S. media landscape and experience with industry award programs and submission processes.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and meet multiple deadlines.
Proficiency in PR tools and platforms like Cision, Meltwater, or other similar platforms.
