Job Description

We've been in business for 20 years working with Tier 1 clients on complex projects to solve wicked problems across infrastructure, mining, rail, for design and training scenarios.
We are looking for an experienced mid-to-senior MetaHuman Animator to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in character animation, 3D modeling, and a deep understanding of Unreal Engine’s MetaHuman framework. As a MetaHuman Animator, you will be responsible for creating highly realistic character animations that enhance storytelling, gameplay, or virtual experiences. You will work closely with the delivery team to bring characters to life with lifelike movement and expression.
Responsibilities:
- Create and animate realistic human character movements, including facial expressions, body actions, and secondary motions.
- Utilise MetaHuman Creator to design and modify digital characters.
- Implement animation using Unreal Engine and integrate animations seamlessly with game mechanics, virtual environments, or cinematic sequences.
- Collaborate with the delivery team to interpret and visualise character behaviors, actions, and emotions.
- Rig, skin, and animate characters, ensuring high-quality performance across multiple platforms.
- Optimise character animations for real-time applications, ensuring smooth performance and high-quality visuals.
- Troubleshoot animation issues and refine motion to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest animation tools, techniques, and best practices in the MetaHuman ecosystem.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in character animation, particularly with MetaHuman technology.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine, including the use of animation tools, sequencers, and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, and facial expression techniques.
- Familiarity with motion capture workflows, including processing and editing mocap data.
- Expertise in keyframe animation and blending animations for natural transitions.
- Experience with Maya, Blender, or other 3D modeling/animation software.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to create realistic, emotionally compelling animation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) environments.
- Knowledge of AI-driven animation systems or procedural animation techniques.
- Previous work on AAA video game titles, films, or other high-end virtual experiences.
- Experience in lighting, rendering, and post-production of animated characters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Computer Graphics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Portfolio showcasing high-quality character animation using Unreal Engine or similar platforms.
- At least three years of experience in animation, with a focus on realistic human animation.
