Job Description

A Finance Transformation Consultant specializing in BlackLine is responsible for leading and managing finance transformation initiatives within an organization, leveraging BlackLine’s suite of financial automation and reconciliation solutions. This role involves working closely with finance teams to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the accuracy of financial operations. The consultant will serve as the subject matter expert on BlackLine technology and will guide the integration, deployment, and optimization of the BlackLine platform to drive business value.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring high quality within constraints of time and budget. This includes application design, blueprinting, solutioning, modeling, and proof-of-concept development.
Client Engagement: Engage and lead client conversations, conduct workshops, and present to client stakeholders in management reviews and steering committees.
Process Design: Design and implement to-be processes and roles leveraging leading practices in BlackLine.
Transition Management: Manage process transitions, knowledge transfers, and process reengineering efforts.
Shared Services Implementation: Lead shared services operating model design and implementation, including governance and service management.
Business Case Analysis: Conduct business case analyses to assess project requirements and deliverables, identifying the best solutions for clients.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in methodology, tools, practices, and maturity within the finance transformation journey.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Postgraduate degree (MBA from a premier business school), Chartered Accountant (CA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Experience: 8-10 years of experience in the Finance and Accounts domain, with a focus on finance transformation related to organization structure, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial close, asset accounting, general ledger, chart of accounts, taxation, and treasury.
Technical Expertise: Implementing and consulting experience on finance technology projects, with specific implementation experience and knowledge of financial close tools like BlackLine.
Certifications: Certification in various BlackLine modules such as Account Reconciliation, Journal Entry, Transaction Matching, Tasks, and Smart Close is an added advantage.
Project Management: Experience in handling at least 3 to 5 end-to-end implementations, including assessment, planning, requirement gathering, design, configuration/development, testing, training, and deployment of BlackLine and other tools.
Process Expertise: Experience working on various types of reconciliations, variance analysis, risk rating of accounts, journals, close process management, intercompany transactions, risk and compliance management, cash management, and open items management.
