Job Description
The Pre-Post and Cruise Tour Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of pre-cruise, post-cruise, and shore excursion programs for guests. This role involves managing the logistics of tour operations, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction, and working closely with vendors, staff, and management to deliver seamless experiences for travelers. The supervisor will lead and train staff, monitor the performance of tour operations, and handle any issues or feedback related to the tours.
1. Tour Program Management:
- Supervise and coordinate pre-cruise and post-cruise tour programs, including sightseeing tours, transportation, and hotel accommodations.
- Ensure that all tours operate according to schedule and provide guests with exceptional experiences.
- Collaborate with cruise lines, travel partners, and local vendors to develop and enhance itineraries.
2. Guest Experience and Satisfaction:
- Oversee guest interactions to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction with pre, post, and shore excursion services.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints, resolving issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor guest feedback to identify areas for improvement and work with the team to implement enhancements.
3. Tour Logistics and Coordination:
- Coordinate transportation arrangements, hotel accommodations, meal planning, and other logistics for tour groups.
- Ensure all tours are properly staffed with qualified and knowledgeable tour guides, drivers, and support personnel.
- Prepare and distribute detailed itineraries, schedules, and necessary materials for tour staff and guests.
4. Team Supervision and Training:
- Supervise and lead a team of tour guides, coordinators, and support staff, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and aligned with company policies.
- Conduct regular briefings and provide feedback to staff to maintain high standards of service.
- Recruit, onboard, and manage seasonal or part-time staff as required.
5. Budgeting and Financial Oversight:
-Assist in budgeting for tour operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to cost management targets.
- Monitor and track expenses, ensuring that tours are delivered within budget parameters.
- Report on financial performance, cost-effectiveness, and revenue generation from tours.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tour operations, hospitality, or customer service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in managing pre- and post-cruise operations or shore excursion programs is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with guests and staff professionally.
- Problem-solving ability and a customer-focused mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and tour management software.
- Knowledge of the travel and cruise industry, local tourist attractions, and excursion planning.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
