Job Description

A Sales Channel Head is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to drive sales through indirect channels like distributors, resellers, and affiliates, by building and managing relationships with key partners, overseeing their sales performance, and ensuring alignment with the company's overall sales goals; this includes identifying new channel partners, developing partner programs, providing training and support, and monitoring sales performance to optimize channel effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Channel Strategy Development:
Define and implement a strategic channel sales plan aligned with company objectives, including market segmentation, partner selection, and sales targets.
Identify and evaluate potential new channel partners, develop onboarding processes, and manage partner recruitment.
Create and manage partner tiers, incentive programs, and performance metrics to drive desired sales behaviors.
Partner Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key channel partners at all levels, fostering open communication and collaboration.
Conduct regular partner reviews, address concerns, and provide necessary support to maximize sales potential.
Negotiate partner agreements and ensure compliance with channel policies.
Sales Enablement and Training:
Develop comprehensive training programs for channel partners on product knowledge, sales processes, and company policies.
Provide ongoing sales enablement tools, materials, and support to equip partners with the necessary information to sell effectively.
Sales Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
Track and analyze channel sales performance against targets, identifying areas of strength and improvement.
Monitor partner sales pipeline, forecast accuracy, and identify potential risks or opportunities.
Implement corrective actions and adjustments to sales strategies based on performance data.
Internal Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, customer service, and operations to ensure seamless channel execution.
Communicate channel sales performance and insights to senior management.
