Auto Electrician (1)

Installs, maintains, repairs, and inspects the electrical systems in vehicles. They work on cars, trucks, buses, and other vehicles. They may also work on agricultural equipment.
Responsibilities
Diagnose problems: Use diagnostic tools to identify the cause of electrical issues
Repair and replace parts: Remove and replace faulty or damaged electrical parts
Perform maintenance: Test batteries and charging systems, and check headlight beam alignment
Install accessories: Fit accessories like GPS navigation, parking sensors, and LCDs
Conduct safety inspections: Test the vehicle's electrical systems to ensure they are operating safely
Read electrical schematics: Understand how electrical systems work and be able to read electrical schematics
Use meters and testing equipment: Use meters, testing equipment, and computers to locate and identify problems
Disassemble and reassemble parts: Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts
Skills and knowledge
