Job Description
Southwestern University Medical Center is looking for a competent General Services Head who can be a great partner on the efficient planning, use, monitoring, disposal and security of the company's assets. He also ensures that all staff and visitors are in an environment that is safe, clean, and organized.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Administrative
Manage and maintain records required during company and government audits: DOLE Facility Operating Licenses and permits & Other facility auditing firms
Strengthen knowledge and skill sets of GSD personnel
Identify necessary knowledge and skill sets
Evaluate and recommend appropriate trainings, seminars, and conventions
Reports directly to the VP for Hospital
2. Facility Management
Provide leadership in Facility Management
Safety audit and training
Emergency preparedness and disaster management
Security audit
Janitorial works
Waste management
Environmental management
Carbon footprint management
Provide leadership in Utility Management
Lower electricity generation cost
Reduction in electricity consumption
Lower water consumption
3. Project Management
Manages or provide support to all GSD projects
Monitors schedule and budget status
Conducts punch list process and final inspection
Coordinates all GSD concerns for all major construction projects
* Technical support - evaluation of existing installations, analysis of data, introduction of new technologies, identification of suppliers, evaluation of proposals
4. Health and Safety
The GSD Head institutes policies and procedures to make sure that everyone in the University is a safe and healthy. This may include regular safety drill, participating in national, regional and local disaster organizations, and company-wide programs.
5. Security, Peace and Order
In line with the health and safety of everyone in the University, the GSD Head ensures that everyone is safe and secure at all times, including property and equipment.
6. Waste Management
The GSD Head is responsible for the collection, sorting, transportation, disposal and "minimizing" of waste in the hospital. This includes the recycling of assets such as wastewater and other recyclable materials. This is to ensure that the hospital maximizes all its assets while keeping an environment that is healthy and safe.
