Job Description

Responsible for the implementation of the shelter houses-based protection and recovery program (residential care) for monitoring of referred clients (girls), admission, undertaking of interventions necessary for their rehabilitation, assessment and preparation for the reintegration of the girls to their respective families and/or communities (in-charge of 25 girls).
Key Responsibilities

a. Facilitates psychosocial interventions and monitoring (in charge of 25 girls maximum).

• Prepares treatment plan, monitors progress and development of each girls, modifies activities, conducts case management and evaluates individual case of the girls with the Protection and Recovery Program Officer and the Social Worker In-charge.
• Represents the child (stand on behalf of the child), accompany the child to court hearings and psychological sessions, and facilitates related (de)briefing.
• Facilitates counselling (at least once a month for counselling session), therapy lectures, group dynamic sessions, practical skills trainings, and others.
• Reports all case updates to the Program Officer and Social worker In-charge (e.g. update on legal, psychosocial, home visit, school visit).
• Prepares activity proposals and coordinates with the Program Officer and the Social Worker In-charge for activities under Protection and Recovery Program.
• Participates to all activities conducted with or by the girls in or outside the centers to ensure complete monitoring (in coordination with the other social workers).
• Prepares activity reports, monthly status report of the girls, monthly accomplishment report and annual progress report of the girls and other reports required.
• Determines the safety of the girls during home visits or their stay with their families (in coordination with the local social workers).

• Conducts school visits (to check the girls) and home visits (to check the families) and facilitates psycho-social interventions to the girls (twice a year for each girl), and case to case basis where needed.

b. In-charge of admission and reintegration of the girls
• Identifies candidates for admission and reintegration.
• Facilitates screening of the girls for admission in coordination with the Program Officer, the Social Worker in-charge and the local social workers.
• Finds possible placement for the girls in coordination with the local social workers.
• Prepares the girls for reintegration (to include their biological or foster families).

Reporting Relationships

Reports to:
• Social worker In-charge

Coordinates with on daily basis with:
• Residential Care team (Other social workers, Senior Housemother and Housemothers), Protection and Recovery Program Officer, Health Coordinator, Sports and Circus Coordinator, Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Legal Adviser(s).

Person Specification annd Competencies

• Must be a licensed Social Worker.
• Minimum of 2 (two) years’ experience in casework management, preferably children with special needs.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of casework management, treatment plan, individual and group counselling, and various psychosocial interventions.
• Good communication skills, oral and written (English and local dialect) and report writing skills.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Must have compassion for children.
• Must be non-judgmental and non-discriminating while respecting the terms of confidentiality.
• Possesses positive leadership skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team.
• Willingness to stay in the center and work beyond the normal work hours and work days.
