Arborist

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct inspections to evaluate tree health, identify diseases, pests, and structural issues.

2. Recommend appropriate treatments or interventions.

3. Prune, trim, and shape trees to promote healthy growth and maintain aesthetic value.

4. Remove dead, damaged, or hazardous trees as needed.

5. Select appropriate tree species for specific environments and client requirements.

6. Plant and transplant trees while ensuring proper care during the establishment phase.

7. Diagnose and treat diseases or pest infestations using environmentally responsible methods.

8. Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments as necessary.

9. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards posed by trees.

10. Provide solutions to mitigate risks, such as cabling, bracing, or removal.

11. Provide advice and recommendations to clients regarding tree care and landscape planning.

12. Develop maintenance plans tailored to specific needs.

13. Operate and maintain tools and equipment, including chainsaws, pruners, and lifts, safely and efficiently.

14. Comply with environmental and safety regulations and industry standards.

15. Maintain records of tree assessments, treatments, and maintenance activities.

16. Prepare reports and proposals for clients or management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Certification as an Arborist.

2. Knowledge of tree biology, soil science, and pest/disease management.

3. Proficiency in using arboricultural tools and equipment.

4. Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures.

5. Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.

7. Physical fitness and ability to work at heights.
