• Export/Import Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and manage export/import documentation, ensuring compliance with government regulations (e.g., customs clearance, tariffs, and export licenses). Handle the preparation of all required documents for shipments, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and packing lists. Ensure compliance with international trade laws, including Incoterms, customs duties, and import/export restrictions for different countries. Work with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of goods at borders and resolve any issues related to customs compliance.
• Logistics Coordination: Coordinate shipping logistics, including selecting carriers, arranging transportation, and tracking shipments from origin to destination. Oversee the inventory management process, ensuring that stock levels are aligned with demand projections and that shipments are timely and cost-effective. Work closely with freight forwarders to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of goods, resolving any issues that may arise during transit. Track and manage product returns or rejections, and ensure proper resolution according to the terms and conditions of contracts.
• Problem Solving and Risk Mitigation: Resolve shipping or customs-related issues in a timely manner, escalating problems when necessary and ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Identify potential risks in the international trade process (e.g., currency fluctuations, political instability) and suggest risk mitigation strategies.
• Performance Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of orders, shipments, and any issues that arise. Analyze trends in import/export activity, helping to improve future operations and customer satisfaction.
