Radiologic Technologist

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain aseptic and sterile techniques and standard precautions when dealing with patients and co-workers.
2. Transport patients from the waiting room or the patient’s room to the radiology department suite
3. Ensure proper identification of the patient.
4. Assists patients, as necessary, on and off examining tables.
5. Explain the procedures in a courteous and professional manner.
6. Operates all equipment and accessories in a clean and efficient manner.
7.Position patients for the desired anatomy to be imaged or irradiated.
8.Use alternative positioning methods as the patient's condition dictates.
9.Use positioning aids to minimize patient’s motion and discomfort.
10.Use proper shielding and sound radiation safety protection for both patient and health care personnel.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education / Experience Required:
- Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology and current updated Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Professional Regulation Commission.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
-Verbal ability is necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiologic and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and hospital staff.
-Spatial perception is necessary to visualize inner structure of human body in relation to x-ray tube and film in order to obtain radiographs of diagnostic value.
