Client relationships

Communication

Revenue generation
Account managers work to generate revenue for their clients and their organization. They may develop new sales strategies, identify sales potential, and plan marketing events.
Problem-solving
Account managers identify problems, develop solutions, and implement them quickly and effectively.
Account managers should have strong communication and negotiation skills, and be customer service oriented. They should also be able to work well with others and lead a team.
