Job Description
2. Chemical and Hazardous Waste Management: Assist in maintaining an inventory of chemicals used within the organization. Ensure proper collection, segregation, labeling, storage, handling of chemicals and disposal in accordance with safety guidelines, hazardous waste regulations and internal procedures.
3. Waste Minimization and Recycling: Assist in identifying opportunities for waste minimization and recycling initiatives. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement recycling programs and explore environmentally friendly alternatives to hazardous substances.
4. Environmental Monitoring and Inspection: Participate in inspections and audits to assess compliance with chemical management and hazardous waste regulations. Help identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in environmental management or sustainability roles.
• Previous experience or coursework in chemical management, hazardous waste, or related disciplines is preferred. Knowledge of relevant chemical management and hazardous waste regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of IFC PS requirements is preferred
