Job Description
As a Scrum Master, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting a dedicated Scrum team within our company. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the team adheres to Agile principles and Scrum practices, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. You will work closely with team members and stakeholders to remove impediments, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and drive the successful delivery of high-quality software products. This role falls under the Project Management Office (PMO), and you will provide reports to the Lead Scrum Master when assigned to their projects, and directly to the Senior Project Manager if there is no Lead Scrum Master for your project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. On Technical Expertise:
a. Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
b. Ensure the team adheres to Scrum practices and Agile methodologies
c. Assist with backlog refinement and user story creation
d. Utilize Jira, Confluence, other tools to manage and track progress
2. On Leadership:
a. Coach team members on Agile principles and practices
b. Remove impediments and blockers to ensure smooth workflow
c. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team
d. Guide the team towards self-organization and accountability
3. On Communication:
a. Facilitate effective communication within the team and with external parties
b. Ensure transparency in the team's progress and challenges
c. Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation on team performance,
inputs, and outputs to ensure accurate historical data records, which will be utilized for
precise future work estimations and analysis
4. On Contributing to the PMO:
a. Align team activities with the PMO's strategic goals and objectives
b. Provide regular updates and reports to the PMO on team progress and performance
c. Collaborate with the PMO to implement best practices and improve project management processes
d. Participate in PMO meetings and contribute to the development of project management
standards
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, information technology,
engineering, project management, or related field
2. Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certification
3. 2-4 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role
4. Strong understanding of software development life cycle
Skills:
1. Proficiency in Agile methodologies and Scrum practices, familiarity with SAFe is preferred
2. Proficiency in Jira and Confluence or similar tools
3. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
4. Strong organizational and time management skills
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships internal and external of the scrum team
