Job Description

 Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment and comply with all safety rules and procedures to include personnel protective equipment
 Able to work independently and is expected to maintain a schedule of work
 Excavate lagoons/earth moving
 Perform additional duties or projects as assigned
 Safely operates heavy equipment, back loaders, forklifts, to perform base maintenance
 Supports other shops by using heavy equipment to move materials, dig foundations/footing, trenches, ditches, hauls equipment, to accomplish the mission
 Periodically performs stand-by duties for after hour emergency work
 Is responsible for the safe and technically proficient operation of heavy equipment
 Arranges equipment maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations or as directed by the Vehicle Maintenance Facility and Supervisor, Fleet Operations
