Airport/Terminal Nurse

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responds to all emergency situations and takes immediate medical actions like performing initial assessment, providing first aid and general nursing care services and rapid transport when necessary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reports to scene of accidents or acute illnesses for which the emergency medical case has been reported.
2. Manages patients using pre - hospital knowledge, medical protocols, and good judgement.
3. Monitors and records the patient's vital signs and general health condition, and immediately reports all normal and abnormal findings to the team leader.
4. Performs primary and secondary assessment with complete and thorough head-to-toe examination, secures patient's history, check for unknown injuries, and medical conditions, obtains pertinent data and secures patient's history.
5. Evaluates the physical and mental status of patients while providing care and observes patient's response to treatment management.
6. Establishes triage and medical care area at the incident site and classifies victims according to priorities and takes necessary action accordingly in case of Mass Casualty Incident.
7. Communicates clearly in written and verbal manner needed information accurately and efficiently to the team member/ concerned stakeholders (agency/airline) throughout the run, works closely, and collaborates on medical management depending on the patient's status and destination
8. Maintains medical record of patients and keeps them accurate
9. Accomplishes daily and weekly reports regarding medical supplies and equipment, and other operational activities and makes proper endorsement to the next shift
10. Drives and operate the ambulance safely and efficiently and performs a thorough daily inspection of apparatuses to which he/she is assigned
11. Assures that the apparatus, equipment and records are maintained and in good order
12. Properly utilizes the medical equipment such as Automated External Defibrillator (AED), pulse oxymeter, Kendricks Extrication Device, oxygen, nebulizer, suction machine, etc.
13. Participates in scheduled physical fitness training
14. Performs additional duties/tasks as may be assigned from time to time by his/her superiors

COMPETENCIES:
1. Must be a Registered Nurse
2. Must have at least (1) year related work experience
3. Must be computer literate
4. Must possess good communication and organizational skills, stress management
5. Must possess knowledge & skill on Triage, treatment and patient transport
6. Must have a good qualities & excellent interpersonal skill for patient care
7. Must demonstrate the qualities of resourcefulness & sense of urgency & willing to work on an on-call basis as necessary
8. Must have skills in operation of ambulance, maintenance & operation medical service equipment
