Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage structural engineering projects from inception through completion, including design, analysis, and construction phases.
2. Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
3. Supervise and mentor a team of structural engineers, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
4. Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage professional development within the team.
5. Provide technical direction and review engineering designs, calculations, and specifications to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements.
6. Address and resolve technical challenges and issues that arise during project execution.
7. Develop and implement strategies to improve engineering processes, enhance project outcomes, and achieve organizational goals.
8. Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements in structural engineering practices.
9. Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenditures, and ensuring financial efficiency.
10. Oversee the allocation of resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to meet project needs.
11. Collaborate with other departments, such as architecture, construction, and project management, to ensure integrated and cohesive project execution.
12. Act as a liaison between the structural engineering team and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
13. Ensure all structural engineering practices adhere to relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
14. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to protect personnel and the structural integrity of projects.
15. Analyze project data, including structural performance, material usage, and cost effectiveness.
16. Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management based on project outcomes and analysis.
17. Address and resolve technical and operational issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
18. Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the structural engineering team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record in project management and team leadership. Previous experience in a managerial role is preferred.
3. Extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and standards.
4. Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
5. Proficiency in structural engineering software and tools.
6. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
7. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
