Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Paralegal will support the legal team with tasks such as legal research, document preparation, contract management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role is key in mitigating legal risks and maintaining adherence to laws and regulations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct research on laws, regulations, and legal articles relevant to the manufacturing industry. Analyze legal information and summarize findings for attorneys.
2. Document Preparation: Draft, review, and prepare various legal documents such as contracts, agreements, policies, compliance documents, and other legal correspondence.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including environmental, health and safety, labor, and trade regulations. Help in preparing and submitting necessary compliance reports and filings.
4. Contract Management: Maintain and manage the company’s contract database. Track contract terms, renewals, expirations, and obligations. Assist in negotiating contract terms and conditions.
5. Litigation Support: Provide support in litigation matters, including document collection, organizing, and managing evidence, coordinating with external counsel, and preparing for hearings and trials.
6. Corporate Governance: Assist in maintaining corporate records, minutes of meetings, and other governance documents. Support the legal team in board and committee meetings preparation and follow-up.
7. Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential legal risks and help develop strategies to mitigate them. Support in managing the company’s insurance policies and claims.
8. Intellectual Property: Support the legal team in managing intellectual property matters, including patent filings, trademark registrations, and IP litigation.
9. Training and Education: Help develop and conduct training sessions for employees on legal topics, compliance issues, and company policies.
10. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the legal department, including scheduling meetings, maintaining files, and handling correspondence.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: An associate or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field. A paralegal certification is preferred.
2. Experience: Previous experience as a paralegal, preferably in a corporate or manufacturing setting.
3. Knowledge: Understanding of legal principles, regulatory requirements, and the manufacturing industry.
4. Skills: Strong research, writing, and analytical skills. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Software: Proficiency in legal research databases, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
