Job Description
The Accounting Assistant will play a key role in supporting the finance and accounting department. Your responsibilities will include assisting with various financial tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Verify invoices, purchase orders, and receipts for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and classified.
• Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor cash balances and report any anomalies.
• Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Maintain expense records and assist in expense report audits.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Provide financial data and analysis as needed for decision-making.
• Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Verify timecards, deductions, and taxes to guarantee payroll accuracy.
• Organize and maintain financial records and documents, both physical and digital.
• Ensure compliance with record retention policies and assist with audits.
• Communicate with vendors and customers regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with external partners.
• Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and company policies to ensure compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of tax filings and audits.
