Job Description
This role will be handling back office customs clearance operations for Dubai.
Responsibilities:
The Customs Clearance Specialist is responsible for efficiently managing the customs clearance process for both agent-nominated shipments and local consignees.
This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including shipping line agents, consignees, and internal teams, to ensure smooth and timely customs clearance and delivery.
Coordinate cargo delivery upon BOE approval.
Liaise with transporters for Proof of Delivery (POD) and invoice processing.
Arrange customs submission as per regulatory requirements.
Coordinate customs inspection if necessary.
Obtain finance approval for duty deposit shipments before proceeding.
Coordinate with clients to arrange advance deposits when required.
Follow up with clients on document submission for refund claims.
Arrange Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attestation when needed
About you:
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
Previous experience in customs clearance or freight forwarding preferred.
Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
Familiarity with customs clearance software and systems.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
A willingness to adapt to changing regulations and industry practices.
