Customs Clearance Coordinator

About the role
This role will be handling back office customs clearance operations for Dubai.

Responsibilities:

The Customs Clearance Specialist is responsible for efficiently managing the customs clearance process for both agent-nominated shipments and local consignees.
This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including shipping line agents, consignees, and internal teams, to ensure smooth and timely customs clearance and delivery.

 Coordinate cargo delivery upon BOE approval.
 Liaise with transporters for Proof of Delivery (POD) and invoice processing.
 Arrange customs submission as per regulatory requirements.
 Coordinate customs inspection if necessary.
 Obtain finance approval for duty deposit shipments before proceeding.
 Coordinate with clients to arrange advance deposits when required.
 Follow up with clients on document submission for refund claims.
 Arrange Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attestation when needed

About you:

 Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
 Previous experience in customs clearance or freight forwarding preferred.
 Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
 Familiarity with customs clearance software and systems.
 Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
 Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
 A willingness to adapt to changing regulations and industry practices.
