Requirement:
Education:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is typically required. Some employers may prefer candidates with a master's degree or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel) for data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of cost accounting principles and methodologies, such as standard costing, job costing, and activity-based costing.
Understanding of inventory management principles, including inventory valuation methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, weighted average).
Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in cost calculations and inventory records.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements related to inventory valuation, financial reporting, and compliance.
Communication Skills:
Clear verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, procurement) and present financial information to stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Abilities:
Capability to troubleshoot accounting discrepancies, resolve inventory issues, and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cost and inventory processes.
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in cost accounting, inventory control, or related financial roles.
