Night Duty Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
The Night Duty Technician assists the Engineering Manager in maintaining common areas and conducting repairs in hotel rooms or private units. Responsibilities include performing electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and welding tasks, ensuring equipment functionality, responding to facility alarms, and inspecting properties for safety, security, cleanliness, and maintenance issues. The Night Duty Technician also ensures the follow-through of the Preventive Maintenance Program as directed by the Engineering Manager, coordinates service requests, and troubleshoots major systems during emergencies. Additionally, they assist the Engineering Manager and Operations Manager in conducting property audits, ensuring compliance with building standards, and facilitating seamless handovers between shifts.
The Night Duty Technician must be thoroughly familiar with the resort's high standards for service, safety, and cleanliness, encompassing various functions of the Engineering Department. They must demonstrate the ability to manage time by prioritizing tasks and setting goals. They must exhibit willingness “to train and be trained”. As part of the Engineering Team, the Night Duty Technician is expected to have a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks while ensuring that all resort facilities meet safety requirements to provide a comfortable space for guests and employees alike.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: WELCOME HOME EXPERIENCE

COMPANY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
● Must learn the corporate policy and operations manual.
● Must maintain all brand standards at the highest level.

SANITATION AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
● Must learn sanitation and proper waste disposal regulations as per DENR.
● Must ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas of the resort.
● Must wear PPE and use proper equipment.

GENERAL ENGINEERING OPERATIONS
● FACILITY MANAGEMENT
o Inspects all properties for safety and security issues
o Inspects properties for repair and maintenance issues
o Inspects properties for cleanliness issues
o Inspects properties for manpower productivity issues

● OFFICE MANAGEMENT
o Inspects all offices functionality and safety including back of the house.
o Inspects energy conservation practices after admin hours.

● PROPERTY AUDIT
o Makes rounds to all assigned properties and audit necessary aspects of the building that require actions.
o Sends night audit reports after every shift.
o Ensures that all properties are compliant to standard building guidelines.

● PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
o Oversees Preventive Maintenance Program on all property assets at night.
o Make sure routine maintenance is done as scheduled regularly.

SPECIFIC ENGINEERING DUTIES
● Perform general skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding, and carpentry.
● Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
● Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.

● Report any incidents to the Engineering Manager and Operations Manager for proper guidance.
● Monitor all building systems and equipment according to the provided maintenance checklist.
● Respond to all facility alarms, mechanical failures, electrical issues, elevator system failures, and any other incidents in the building.
● Perform tasks as scheduled on Service Requests.
● Provide support for repairs in common areas and resort rooms.
● Monitor the endorsement logbook to facilitate smooth handovers during shifts.

SERVICE REQUEST AND FRONT OFFICE SUPPORT
● Facilitates completion of all maintenance, cleaning and security day/night assignments.
● Initiates repair and maintenance works that should be completed during the day/night duty
● Coordinates with the Front Office for completion of service and/or maintenance requests.
● Coordinates with day shift Engineering Manager and Operations Manager for any endorsement and unfinished task to be included on graveyard service request.

SERVICE PROMISE
● Minor Repair – 1-3 days
● Major Repair – 4-15 days

TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR DUTIES
● Must be able to troubleshoot during emergencies on the following major systems as needed:
-Genset -Intercom
-Elevator -Internet Connection
-ATS (automatic transfer switch) -FDAS System
-Transfer pump -Security Issue
-Booster pump -Telephone System
-Elevated water tank -Pressurization System
-Smoke Evacuation System

● In the absence of maintenance agency personnel, the Night Duty Technician should be able to execute emergency and repair tasks necessary to ensure the property's functionality.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: WORK SCHEDULING TASKS
● Assist Engineering Manager in preparing the work schedule for service requests which
should include materials required.
● In the absence of an Engineering Manager, conducts daily meetings with fellow technicians for scheduled service requests and daily maintenance of assigned areas.
● In the absence of an Engineering Manager, organizes, monitors and checks all accomplishments of assigned technicians at the end of shift.

PRF (PURCHASE REQUEST FORM) TASKS
● Assist Engineering Manager in accomplishing PRF to start the ordering process of needed items to accomplish service requests.

REPORT SUBMISSIONS:
● Submit a Daily Accomplishment Report.
● Conduct regular inventory of assets including discarded ones.
● Regularly log reports with photographic proofs of accomplishment of tasks as required.

SHIFT COVERAGE:
● Performs tasks, duties and covered shifts of colleagues in their absence.
● Inform immediate supervisor of any scheduled or unscheduled absences.

OTHER TASKS:
● Undertake other duties and tasks that may be assigned from time to time with a positive attitude.
