Safety Officer
Job Description:
 Serves as Secretary of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Committee. His/Her functions are:
• Prepare minutes of the meeting;
• Report status of recommendations made;
• Notify members of the meetings; and
• Submit to the employer a report of the activities of the committee, including recommendations made;
 Ensures the compliance to all safety legal/mandatory requirements.
 Conducts accident/incident investigation and verify the effectiveness of the provided actions.
 Coordinates all the EHS Training Programs for all the employees.
 Spearheads the implementation of hazard identification, risk assessment and control (HIRAC).
 Conducts EHS inspection to ensure the compliance and implementation of health and safety programs and operational controls.
 Maintains the accident/incident recording system and coordinate action taken to eliminate root causes.
 Facilitates the regular General EHS meeting.
 Issue Work Stoppage Order (WSO) when necessary, based on the requirements and procedures provided by the OSH standards.
 Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the department.

 Basic Occupational Health and Safety
 Risk Assessment (EAI/HIRAC) and Management
 Incident Investigation and Prevention
Job Requirements:
- Minimum requirement Bachelor’s/ College Degree
- Preferably at least two (2) years’ experience or practice as safety officer
- Undergone 40-hours Basic Occupational & Safety Health (BOSH) training DOLE accredited training by DOLE accredited training organization
- In depth knowledge of Safety Legal requirements and procedures
- Oral and written communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Investigation, data analysis and reporting statistics
- Emergency situation management
- Computer literate
