Job Description

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related course.

Minimum of 3 years as a Cobol Developer.

Must have extensive experience with Mainframe COBOL.

Must have experience in using job schedulers, specifically CA7.

Must have experience with Report Management System (RMS).

Must have strong abilities in job and program design, including data manipulation using sorting tools.

Must have extensive experience in system testing.

Comprehensive experience across all phases of software development, including: Requirement analysis, Building/coding, Testing, and Deployment of both batch and online programs using Mainframe COBOL.

Must have hands-on experience in production support with a focus on investigating and resolving issues.

Must have experience in the development, maintenance, and testing of both new and existing in-house and Systematics programs.

Job Description:

Software Development:

Gather requirements from business, application, and infrastructure teams.

Demonstrate knowledge in banking and retail system operations.

Propose technical designs and development approaches for assigned applications.

Create, modify, and debug jobs and programs based on technical specifications.

Utilize programming languages and tools, including COBOL II, JCL, DB2 – SQL, VSAM, ISPF, DFSORT, and SYNCSORT.

Program and System Testing:

Write test scripts and test scenarios based on system specifications.

Create test data to cover every scenario during unit testing.

Perform testing validations during user acceptance testing (UAT).

Application Support:

Run job and data validations for assigned applications as a post-deployment task.

Handle ticket resolution for business problems during support periods.
