Job Description

The Structural Design Engineer primary role involves creating innovative and cost-efficient structural designs for various projects such as buildings, bridges, and industrial facilities. Employing advanced software for precise structural analysis, ensuring designs meet safety, performance, and durability standards. Compliance with building codes and regulations is crucial. Collaborating with architects, project managers, and other engineers is essential for seamless integration of designs. Clear communication of technical concepts to stakeholders is vital, as is managing multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities also include site inspections, project reporting, and staying updated on industry trends. Adaptability and commitment to organizational success are key.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Develop innovative and cost-effective structural designs for buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and other infrastructure projects.
Utilize advanced software tools such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, and Revit to conduct meticulous structural analysis, ensuring designs surpass safety, performance, and durability requirements.
Interpret and apply relevant building codes, standards, and regulations such NSCP, ACI, and AISC, to ensure designs meet legal and safety requirements.
Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
Effectively communicate technical concepts and design recommendations to internal stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies, fostering transparency and understanding throughout project process.
Oversee multiple projects concurrently, adeptly managing timelines and deliverables within budgetary confines to uphold project integrity and client satisfaction.
Conduct comprehensive site inspections prior to bidding, ensuring alignment with site conditions and client specifications, mitigating potential discrepancies and optimizing project execution.
Develop and prepare comprehensive project reports, specifications, and drawings for client evaluation and endorsement, along with drafting specifications and/or operational guidelines.
Participate actively in project meetings, site visits, and inspections to oversee construction progress and proactively address any design-related challenges that arise.
Analyze and ensure data crucial for structural engineering calculations, drawings, and reports, ensuring precision and reliability in project deliverables.
Handle technical aspects of structural design work including design reviews.
Organize and calculate data essential for structural engineering calculations, drawings, and reports.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Stay updated evolving industry trends, advancements, and best practices, integrating relevant insights into design methodologies to ensure projects remain at the forefront of innovation.
Flexibly undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to organizational success.

EDUCATION, TECHNICAL CAPABILITY AND CAREER:

Licensed Civil Engineer demonstrating proficiency and adherence to professional standards and ethics.
Experience in handling structural engineering projects such buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and other infrastructure projects
Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on experience as a Structural Design Engineer, contributing to a diverse range of projects across various sectors.
Capable of independently handling structural design projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
Possesses expertise in retrofitting existing structures, enhancing their resilience and safety against seismic activity, environmental factors, or structural deficiencies.
Demonstrates the ability to assess existing structures, identify weaknesses, and develop effective retrofit solutions, optimizing structural performance and longevity.
Proficient in designing structures of different materials, including concrete and steel, employing innovative methodologies to achieve structural integrity and efficiency.
Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts effectively.
Comfortable collaborating with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients, ensuring alignment of project objectives and delivering solutions that meet expectations.
Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing industry-standard software tools for structural analysis and design, including ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD
Demonstrates proficiency in building codes and standards such as ACI, ASCE, AISC, and IBC.
Ensures compliance with relevant regulations throughout the design process, prioritizing safety, durability, and sustainability.
Possesses a diverse portfolio of design projects encompassing residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional structures.
Capable of adapting design approaches to suit project requirements, optimizing solutions for cost-effectiveness, constructability, and performance.
