Job Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Lawyer to join our team on a part-time basis, providing assistance with drafting legal documents such as Wills, Relationship Property Agreements, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and Trust Deeds for our client. The ideal candidate should possess experience with New Zealand property and separation agreements, and have a strong background in legal drafting, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to deliver high-quality work within established deadlines.

Location: Remote/WFH (Philippines-based preferred)
Hours: 5 – 10 hours per week. Please note that our client is based in New Zealand, which should be taken into consideration when applying.

Responsibilities:
• Draft Wills, Relationship Property Agreements, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and Trust Deeds for clients in accordance with New Zealand legal requirements and client specifications.
• Review and revise legal documents as necessary to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on matters related to estate planning, property agreements, powers of attorney, and trusts.
• Conduct legal research to stay informed about changes in legislation and case law affecting estate planning and related areas.
• Stay updated on relevant legal developments and changes in New Zealand laws pertaining to estate planning, property agreements, and trusts.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, address any concerns, and provide updates on the status of legal documents.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all aspects of legal work.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the Bar in the Philippines or relevant jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated experience in legal drafting, particularly in the areas of estate planning, property agreements, powers of attorney, and trusts.
• Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal principles governing estate planning and related areas.
• Familiarity with New Zealand relationship property laws, separation agreements, and will drafting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in legal document preparation.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
• Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in legal document drafting.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
• Previous experience working in a law firm or legal department is preferred.
• Availability to work 5 – 10 hours per week on a part-time basis.
