Job Description

Job Requirements:

• Understand the brief and design requirements of clients / team leads / stakeholders
Ensure quality of output based on standards of excellence
• Proof-to-edit documents against specific amends, direction and QA checklist
• Capture all glaring errors in the documents, from layout and formatting, to hyperlinks, file naming conventions and others
• Collaborate with graphic designers and provide guidance to maintain quality of output
• Work according to established production flow and process tools
• Take on diverse types of document projects for QA
• Manage time and workload to accommodate volume of QA work for quick turnaround
• Work very well with QA team and take on extra work when necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree/diploma in Communication Arts / Journalism / Multimedia Arts or any relevant discipline
• 5-7 years of experience as a regular or freelance proofreader / editor / quality analyst in a Publishing / Print Media company / similar
• Strong command of the English language
• Excellent editorial / proofreading / proof-to-edit skills for multi-page print materials
• Knowledge of design and layout principles
• Superb attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to work with Adobe InDesign is required
• Background in pre-press production is a plus
• Demonstrate sound and appropriate editorial judgement
• Stickler for day-to-day deadlines
• Very flexible in doing quality check on diverse editorial projects
• Experience working in a corporate environment is a plus
• Comfortable to work on North America hours
• Contract based employment (5 months)
• Can start by June 2024
