Job Description

A level designer plays a critical role in the game development process, responsible for creating engaging and immersive levels that provide exciting gameplay experiences. They work closely with the game design team to design, develop, and implement various game levels, ensuring they align with the overall vision and mechanics of the game.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the creative team to grasp the game's design and vision.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and work with artists, writers, and game designers to create levels that align with the game's theme, mechanics, and narrative.
- Creates detailed plans and layouts for the level, including the placement of objects, obstacles, enemies, and interactive elements.
- Design the terrain, architecture, and other environmental features to ensure a cohesive and visually appealing world.
- Must have a deep understanding of the game's mechanics and systems.
- Design levels that showcase and challenge players' abilities, considering factors such as pacing, difficulty progression, and opportunities for exploration, puzzle-solving, combat, or other gameplay features.
- Playtest and iterate on their designs to ensure a well-balanced and enjoyable experience.
- Gather feedback from playtesters or other team members, make adjustments to the level's layout, difficulty, or pacing, and refine the gameplay experience based on the collected data and observations.
- Create clear and comprehensive documentation to communicate their design intentions, including level flowcharts, diagrams, or written guidelines.
- Collaborate with various members of the development team throughout the production process.
- Work closely with artists to ensure the visual assets align with the level design, collaborate with programmers to implement gameplay mechanics and systems, and coordinate with audio designers to create immersive soundscapes.
- Should have a good understanding of the game development tools and engines used in the project.
- Must be capable of using level editors or other software to build, modify, and test levels effectively.
Salary:
30.000,00 ₱ Monthly
