Safety Officer

1. WORKPLACE SAFETY & HEALTH STANDARDS
1.1. Identifies, evaluate and tests work areas for potential accident and health hazards.
1.2. Leads, develops, and implements occupational health and safety systems including
policies, procedures, and manuals.
2. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY SUPPORT & ADVICE
2.1. Works with other departments to provide support and advise on Occupational Health &
Safety best practices in order to maintain healthy workforce.
2.2. Designs and implements workplace processes and procedures that help protect
employees from hazardous work conditions.
3. MONITORING AND REPORTING COMPLIANCE OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY
3.1. Monitors to ensure employees adheres to Occupational Health & Safety rules and
regulations to control breaches and incidents within the workplace.
3.2. Coordinates safety drills with the workplace and conducts training on variety of topics
such as emergency preparedness.
4. DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTAINING OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY SYSTEM
4.1. Works with other departments to implement new initiative where required outcomes are
not being achieved.
4.2. Encourages maximum reporting of incidents and work with other departments to ensure
accident/incidents are openly, accurately, and timely recorded and reported.
5. HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLNESS
5.1. Promotes and supports initiative for high standards of health, safety, and wellness.
5.2. Promotes compliance with relevant Occupational, Health & Safety obligations to support
health, safety, and wellness initiative.
