Software Developer Job Description
Summary
The Software Developer acts as the technical lead for multi-departmental projects creating
solutions that meet market needs relating to architecture, implementation, testing and
maintenance. The Software Developer is responsible for designing fully functioning, debugged
code with required documentation that meets development goals.
The candidate will be responsible for the following:
 Participate in planning and concept meetings
 Create and edit front and backend software
 Troubleshoot problems and errors
 Research development techniques and third-party software
 Collaborate with and aide colleagues
Qualifications/Skills:
Successful candidate will require the following skills/experience:
 Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent job
experience
 Minimum of 3 years as a web or mobile developer
 Minimum of 3 years in a technical software development role
 Basic or intermediate knowledge in requirements analysis, design, coding and unit
testing of scalable, distributed, web or mobile applications
 Demonstrates aptitude for learning new technologies
 Ability to communicate effectively technical concepts
The following skills are beneficial:
 Java EE, C#, Python or other equivalent object-oriented language experience
 Angular 2+, React or other equivalent JS experience
 Web and mobile design experience
 Native and cross-platform mobile technologies experience is an asset
 XML / JSON
 Integrating with REST APIs
 Ecommerce experience
 Familiarity with hardware-software boundary

Working Conditions
 Travel may be required
 Ability to attend and conduct presentations
 Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
 Overtime as required
 Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required
