Job Description

The News Desk Editor manages and controls the flow of information from the Central Editorial Desk to Reporters and to News Producers. S/He prepares and manages the deployment of news teams and other assets as may be necessary to ensure the most comprehensive news coverage possible.

A. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Do factual checks, and review raw scripts and advisories sent by reporters, minding as well legal and ethical considerations in stories submitted.
2. Work closely with News Gathering Head in preparing deployment plans for major/special coverages (e.g. breaking news, elections, calamities, trips of the President)

B. Minimum Qualifications:
1. Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism/Communication
Graduates of other courses may be accepted depending on their experience in News

C. Experience:
10 years in broadcast news or any journalism-related field
