Accounting Officer

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording transactions, posting debits and credits, and ensuring that all financial data is entered into the accounting software system promptly and accurately.
2. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure these reports adhere to accounting principles and accurately reflect the financial position of the organization.
3. Accounts Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies or errors. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
4. Invoice Processing: Process invoices from vendors and suppliers, verifying accuracy, obtaining necessary approvals, and ensuring timely payment. Monitor accounts payable aging to manage payment schedules effectively.
5. Expense Management: Review employee expense reports, verify supporting documentation, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Process expense reimbursements accurately and promptly.
6. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing past financial performance, identifying trends, and making projections for future financial outcomes. Monitor budget variances and provide explanations as needed.
7. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations to management for decision-making purposes. Identify areas for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, or process improvement.
8. Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and tax regulations. Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as required.
9. Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, operations, and human resources, to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective financial management. Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
