ASA Color & Chemical Industries, Inc. humble beginnings started in March 1977 with only a meager Php20,000 (US$2,700) as its initial capitalization. ASA's founders were Mr. Jose Arbatin and Mr. Nazario Sta. Ana. During ASA's early stages, both men worked as a purchaser, production worker, delivery driver and accountant.

ASA's first plant was equipped with one 50 gallon drum and a wooden paddle which served as their sole production equipment. Their initial product was a nitrocellulose varnish for flexographic ink.
ASA Color's commitment to quality and its pioneering vision has enabled the company to grow in multiples through the years. It has grown to a 150 employee company with over 100 active clients.

ASA's product lines are divided into two major divisions: surface and lamination inks. Surface inks are used for snack, frozen and consumer product packaging. Other uses include shopping bags, packaging tapes, woven polypropylene bags, shower curtains, tabletops and lottery tickets. ASA's surface inks can be used in both flexographic and rotogravure printing. These inks can be applied to a wide array of substrates including cellophane, Metallized OPP, Nylon, OPP, PE, PP and PVC films.

On the other hand, ASA's lamination inks can be used on OPP, Corona and chemically treated polyester substrates. The bulk end use for this ink includes laminated snack packages, cookie wraps and coffee pouches. Lastly, ASA's lamination inks exhibit excellent printability, consistent bond values, minimal solvent retention and superior adhesion.
