Rizal MicroBank serves as the microfinance banking arm of RCBC. RCBC ventured into microfinance — the first large bank to do so — in July 2009 after buying Jose P. Laurel Rural Bank, Inc. based in Batangas in February 2009, and Merchants Savings & Loan Association, Inc., which had branches in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, in May 2008.

Rizal MicroBank is focused on offering additional working capital loans to Filipino enterprising low-income households and micro enterprise operators. The loans are granted based primarily on the individual’s character and capacity to pay.

Rizal MicroBank is strongly committed to utilize its resources and expertise as it endeavors to grow its outreach while maintaining high quality portfolio by implementing an IT-enhanced microfinance operations. Through the IT-enhanced microfinance operations, Rizal MICROBANK will also specialize in under-banked and under-served areas with thriving microenterprise communities thereby spurring the growth of local economies.
